White Admiral Butterflies

IMG_1638.jpg

We are excited to have White Admiral butterflies around Godney. This photograph, that was taken by a resident (as are most of the photos on this website), shows the full beauty of this beautiful creature. The White Admiral has sadly become rarer and rarer in the UK over the past 20 years, now only residing in the south of our country. It tends to be found in shady woodlands, but obviously like the moors of Somerset too. It is a delight to behold as it literally glides along forest rides, flying from tree to forest floor and back up with only a few effortless wing beats.
